Portland Garment Factory is, perhaps, my favorite local fashion success story. For the last 10 years or so, I’ve crisscrossed paths with Britt Howard, (PGF’s co-owner, along with Rosemary Robinson). Countless times on the 15 bus line, we’d find ourselves catching up on the latest greatest. I’ve enjoyed watching her kids grow into the charming little people they are today.
Last night, PGF celebrated their third year manufacturing locally designed clothing and accessories, after a recent expansion into a beautiful space (at 408 SE 79th) in the Montavilla neighborhood. The party was a perfect opportunity to launch HouseLine, fall and spring collections, debuting with a sweet runway show.
If you know Portland fashion, you already know some of who was there: Marjorie Skinner (from the Mercury), Eden Dawn, Kate Towers, Holly Stadler, Claire La Faye, Adam Arnold, Sean McGuirk (Lizard Lounge), Rachel Turk and Nathaniel Crissman were all in attendance. Always a pleasure to see everybody. A few of these people have some of the most adorable munchkins I have ever seen. And oh-boy do they EVER know how to rock the runway!
*If you pay attention to the slideshow, you can see where I let a couple shorties play with my camera before the runway show.
